‘Rescuer’ - Civil Litigation

In 2009 Peter Jennings was instructed as the expert for a ‘good Samaritan’ who sustained life-changing injuries when a multiple vehicle collision took place whilst he was attempting to assist at the scene of a previous collision. This was the first recorded case in UK Law of a challenge by an insurance company to a personal injury claim brought by a ‘rescuer’. Peter Jennings established the collision sequence and, at the Civil hearing, the injured rescuer won his case.

Princess Diana investigation

Operation Paget, the Princess Diana investigation - Consultant

Whilst a Principal Consultant for TRL Ltd., Peter Jennings acted as a Consultant to 'Operation Paget', Lord Stevens' investigation into the death of Diana, HRH The Princess of Wales.
He was assigned particular responsibility for the interpretation of the scene evidence and, in November 2007, he presented his evidence at the Inquest before Lord Justice Scott-Baker.

Ireland Bus Collisions - Boards of Inquiry

In 2004 and 2005, Peter Jennings served on the Boards of Inquiry that were convened to investigate the causes of two serious bus collisions that occurred in Ireland, each resulting in five fatalities.

Fatal Road Rage Collision - Police Scientific Support

A fatal collision occurred as the result of an initial 'road rage' incident in which the offending vehicle failed to stop. Peter Jennings acted as an advisor to the police in interpreting the tyre marks and vehicle damage to establish the collision sequence. The driver that failed to stop was traced, convicted of causing the collision and sentenced to ten years imprisonment.
